Welcome to Muse of Books, where my commitment is to provide honest reviews. Each book is rated based on its plot, character development, world-building, and emotional impact. All reviews are personal and reflect my own thought.

Rating Scale

I rate the books on a 1 – 5 Muse points. Here is a brief explanation of the ratings:

  • 5 Muse points: Exceptional – A must-read! I may dream about the book and need an emotional pause before starting the next read. These books are the literary equivalent of finding money in your old jeans. Recommended to anyone and everyone – even that stranger on the bus.
  • 4 Muse points: Great – Highly enjoyable and recommended, has a minor flaws. While it’s not perfect, it’s like pizza on a bad day – still pretty darn good. You’ll definitely want to talk about these books, just maybe not at funerals.
  • 3 Muse points: Good – A solid book with strengths but also some weaknesses. You won’t throw a parade for it, but you won’t hide it under the bed either. Recommended if you have nothing else on your shelf or if rain ruins your plans.
  • 2 Muse points: Fair – The book has some interesting elements, but overall disappointing. You’ll finish it, but you might also check how many pages are left … frequently.
  • 1 Muse point: Poor – A true test of perseverance. Finishing these books might feel like watching paint dry. Recommend it to your least favourite coworker or an ex.

The goal at Muse of Books is to help you find your next great read while also entertain and delight you along the way. Dive in, the water’s fine – and the books are even better!
